Shika no Yu (meaning Hot Spring for
Deer) is a birthplace of the Nasu
Hot spring which has been a public
therapeutic bath for a long time.
The name of Shika no Yu is originated
in a legend where wild deer bathed
in the water to soothe their injuries.
The bathhouse is made of wood striding
across a stream of hot water. The
bathtub and washing place are made
of wood, too. You can enjoy several
bathtubs comfortably at different
temperatures, soaking in warm water
while measuring time with a sand glass.
There are various bathing ways such
as men and women mixed bathing or
women-only bathing. |
